Waterfield Clocks

Long Case Clocks

With all our hand built English Oak Longcase Clocks, customers will have a personal folder on their clock from date order. This will be updated during the design stage right upto the completed time piece.

This will include all correspondence between us and the customer. Most of our customers where practical will have a visit during the project to check on its progress.

This is usually when a clock is carved and assembled in its natural state. This stage of the project is the most rewarding to me. Some customers take their own photographs at this stage, but the folder will include the many different stages your clock will undertake, to become the genuine finished article.

After each Longcase Clock has been built it then goes into a climatisation room for 14 days before the workings are installed. The clock movement is an 8 day weight driven, 8 hammers 4 by 4 West Minster chime, dead beat escapement with automatic night silence facility, polished brass shells and a large 170 millimeter bob lyre pendulum. The clock is then monitored for a further 14 days before delivery is arrange. We not only build and design Longcase Clocks but we also do all our own servicing and repairs and the above service is designated to Waterfield Clocks only which helps to provide a prompt and quality service.

Customer's homes may restrict the physical size of the Longcase Clock. Therefore, each one is designed around the parameters of the home.
